The Trump lie machine has never spewed harder.
The labors Democrats face in Trump, Part Tuah are closer to Greek myth than the sort of mid-century science fiction novel Elon would love to garble the way Republicans do a Bible.
To save this country from the monarchial impulses of the Trump and the Nerd Reich, we must overcome the federal government's incalculable resources and power.
But first must stare down at the billionaire class.
Along the way, we must evade the white supremacists who happen to want all the same exploitative things as the billionaire class.
Oh, watch out for the assorted lost souls and Mansophere zombies wandering the roads in search of the the 80s-coated misogynistic fantasy world of MAGA.
Did I mention that to do this, you must overcome the worst/best liar ever measured in relentlessness and will-not-go-away powers? And we must do this while being led by a bunch of articulate yet kinda mealy mouth aging people who stick in Congress like it’s AOL. Good folks when they can be. Impressive on C-SPAN but rarely too impressive in fear of turning a single swing voter in Cleveland Heights.
All we have going for us is truth, justice, and the free American way. That's a lot.
And if we can accurately explain to people what is happening to our freedom, the country will recoil. Yet we must know by now that Trump’s expertise is turning recoiling into rot. He can lie harder and longer than most can stay righteous. And he has the implicit backing of all the worst billionaires, who appear to be nearly all of them.
To save this country, Democrats must become masters of persuasion. Currently, most of us are kinda the opposite. Well, we’re good and even excellent. But our 18th century brain is killing the 211st century. We think we can logic problem this country into submission.
Nope, it’s all a battle for brains.
We don’t have to sell anyone out. But we do have to learn to use the masters' tools, so to speak, against them.
